Ian has always achieved at a high level, always wanting to be the best in his field. Ian grew up playing cricket at representative level. At the age of 21 he moved into a windsurfing career that took him to Hawaii and Fiji and included test riding for two of the largest windsurfing brands on the market. Having bought his own yacht to sail to Fiji he then moved back to Brisbane where he got into yacht racing and ultimately found his true passion.
His passion for boats led him to become a commercial skipper was an obvious choice. He now works with the leading charter operator in the Whitsundays where he skippers sailing catamarans.
Ian founded Save Our Seas Australia in 2010 after smashing the world record for the fastest solo circumnavigation of Australia by a massive 26 days.
